We put hours of careful research into finding the best wireless subwoofers available right now. There are many options on the market. So we took the time to distinguish between the quality units and all the rest.

If you are looking for in-wall subwoofers, we review some of the best options on the market that are worth a read.

Wireless connectivity was our number one priority when searching for the subwoofers. All the units on this list can integrate with your home audio system, regardless of brand, without cables. Some wireless subwoofers even include added perks like voice control and multi-room pairing. Such advancements can take your home cinema experience to the next level.

We also sought out subwoofers with high-quality construction and design. Our priority was units that minimize distortion, deliver tight and clean bass, and will give you years of stress-free use. They also have attractive exteriors that can easily integrate with other speakers and overall décor.

Integration was an important consideration. So we looked for subwoofers with phase control and advanced crossover, allowing the subwoofer to blend its sound with your existing speakers. Many units also have adjustable settings to find your perfect sound.

The Best Wireless Subwoofers in2024

1. Klipsch R-12SWi Wireless Subwoofer – Best Value

The R-12SWi by Klipsch doesn’t overload you with extra features but delivers great-quality sound from a simplified unit.

✔️ What we like: A simple and budget-friendly subwoofer with great sound and connectivity.

What we don’t like:  The positioning of the controls.

Standout Features

  • Anti-distortion design
  • Value for money
  • Superior connectivity

The Klipsch R-12SWi is simple but powerful, with superior driver design and durable construction. It includes a 12-inch, front-firing, spun copper woofer that is lightweight but rigid, minimizing distortion and delivering only the smoothest of bass.

Its amplifier is fully digital to bring out your favorite movies’ most accurate sound details and isn’t shy on the volume, packing an impressive 400W of power. While the subwoofer is small and compact, its sound is more significant than life.

This subwoofer is designed to integrate seamlessly into your home entertainment system, with superior connectivity and adjustable controls. It includes a high-quality, pre-paired wireless transmitter that can sync with speakers in seconds, eliminating the need for cumbersome cables. It also features low pass crossover and phase control that blend the sound with your existing speakers for a fully immersive audio experience, just like the cinema.

We also appreciate the aesthetics of the Klipsch unit. It has a dazzling combination of black and copper that is indeed easy on the eyes. However, the R-12SWi isn’t flashy and does what it does best: high-quality sound with simplicity.

Our sole complaint with the Klipsch wireless subwoofer is that the controls are positioned on the back of the unit. While this benefits the aesthetics, dragging it out to make adjustments can be difficult.

If you’re looking for a budget subwoofer that doesn’t compromise on sound quality and can easily fit into your home cinema system, the R-12SWi by Klipsch should be on your list.

2. Syzygy Acoustics SLF870 Wireless Sub

No products found.

The Syzygy Acoustics SLF870 is well worth its price tag, with automatic adaptable features and superior construction.

✔️ What we like:  A sophisticated, premium subwoofer that adapts to its environment.

What we don’t like: Complicated installation.

Standout Features

  • Digital Room Correction
  • Sound Sculpt Technology
  • Audiophile sound

The SLF870 is designed to simplify your life with sophisticated audio features that adapt the subwoofer to its environment. These include the Digital Room Correction feature. The subwoofer uses it to adjust levels based on its position in the room. This allows a full surround sound no matter where it is. The best part is that it happens in just minutes, allowing for seamless playback with minimal delay.

This subwoofer can be controlled easily through its app, where you can adjust levels with the included Sound Sculpt Technology. This allows manual or automatic equalizer adjustments for rich and balanced bass.

Its premium, durable construction ensures smooth playback with minimal distortion. The subwoofer has a 12-inch subwoofer that delivers powerful sound. It can shake your walls if you let it with 1200W of power and can connect easily to the WRM TX1 wireless transmitter.

You can pair up to 8 subwoofers to this transmitter, allowing you to customize your bass experience to your needs. The SLF870 can operate as a front-firing or down-firing system, positioned according to your needs to enjoy audiophile-quality bass.

Our only concern is that installation isn’t that easy with the SLF870. The instructions include diagrams that don’t correspond 100% to the system’s setup. However, if you can overcome this hurdle, you can enjoy the extremely high-quality bass of the SLF870 by Syzygy Acoustics.

3. Bose Bass Module 700 Wireless Sub – Highly Rated

Bose Bass Module 700 - Black- Wireless, Compact Subwoofer, 12"
  • This wireless, compact subwoofer is designed to be paired with the Bose sound bar 700 to bring music, movies, and TV to life with deep, dramatic bass. The surround speakers have a wireless range of 30...

The Bass Module 700 by Bose is our pick for the best overall wireless subwoofer due to its high-quality sound, excellent construction, and user-friendly design.

✔️ What we like: A reliable subwoofer with powerful, balanced bass and simple controls.

What we don’t like: The weight.

Standout Features

  • Rich, clear sound
  • Strong connectivity
  • Simple installation

The Bose Bass Module 700 is a hefty investment but well worth the price due to its superior design. Its powerful 10-inch driver delivers a range of rich sound across the lowest frequencies and a large recessed port. The port design reduces turbulent noise and distortion. It forces the sound out of a smaller space for a cleaner and tighter bass.

Our favorite feature of the Bass Module 700 is the sound quality. Many users have reported it as more of a feeling than a sound. It has a genuinely immersive effect that plunges you into the middle of the movie, with a sound you can feel under your skin.

The Bose subwoofer integrates easily into your home theater system, pairing seamlessly with Bose soundbars up to 30 feet away. This allows you to place the compact unit out of the way or show it off with a sleek, black appearance with a glass top finish designed to impress.

It’s super easy to install, with a single cable for the power source and rapid connection to the Bose soundbar. You can also easily control this wireless subwoofer through the associated app, allowing you to make adjustments from the comfort of your seat.

The Bose Bass module 700 unit is quite heavy, which could be a problem if you have mobility issues or anticipate needing to move it at some point. However, it’s a solid option for excellent connectivity and fully immersive sound once in place.

4. Audioengine S8 Wireless Sub

Audioengine S8 250W Wireless Powered Subwoofer, Built-in Amplifier (Wireless, White)
  • LOW, TIGHT AND SMOOTH BASS: The S8 Subwoofer delivers great bass performance.

The S8 by Audioengine is an excellent choice if you’re looking for powerful sound and seamless integration at a mid-range price point.

✔️ What we like: A powerful, mid-range subwoofer that can integrate into any audio setup.

What we don’t like: The controls on the unit are hard to read.

Standout Features

  • Compatible with multiple systems
  • Anti-resonance design
  • Powerful bass

The best part of the Audioengine S8 is arguably its versatility and flexibility. It includes a W3 wireless adaptor and is compatible with all speaker types, including soundbars, surround speakers, computer speakers, TVs, and even video game consoles. It includes dual audio inputs for ultimate flexibility, allowing you the choice of wireless or wired connection depending on your needs.

This subwoofer is small but mighty, with an 8-inch driver and an in-built amplifier that can handle 125W of RMS power. Even at just 15% volume capacity, users have reported the walls starting to shake, leaving you to wonder what’s possible at its maximum capabilities. It includes an automatic sleep power saving mode to ensure you can enjoy this full sound without impacting too heavily on your electricity bill.

We love the design of the S8 due to its elegant but durable construction. It features a handcrafted, sleek exterior in the minimalist design, supplemented by an anti-resonance steel frame and rubber speaker surround. This internal structure eliminates distortion, as does the front-facing port that delivers extremely precise and tight bass. It can easily handle frequencies from 27Hz – 180Hz, bringing you inside your favorite action films.

Our only concern with the S8 is that the controls on the unit are small and hard to read. Thankfully, the playback can also be controlled through the app, ensuring your audio experience is always seamless with the S8 by Audioengine.

5. REL Acoustics T/5i Subwoofer

No products found.

The T/5i by REL Acoustics is simple but effective, with high quality construction and natural bass.

✔️ What we like: A no-nonsense subwoofer with durable design and strong bass.

What we don’t like: No in-built transmitter.

Standout Features

  • Excellent integration
  • Anti-distortion design
  • Minimalist design

The T/5i is the definition of minimalist, with a simple but elegant black cube design that doesn’t need embellishments to look impressive. Despite its small size and 8-inch, down-firing driver, the wireless home theater subwoofer can comfortably fill a room with incredibly musical bass.

It has a 125W Class A/B amplifier that works best in small or medium-sized rooms. It’s not designed to shake your walls with sound but to act as a natural extension of your speaker sound that puts you inside your favorite films.

It’s compact and durable, with a light yet stiff structure that includes a larger cabinet than previous REL models and thick cabinet walls. This combination reduces resonance and reproduces a smooth bass free from distortion. It also has a high/low crossover and phase control that allows easy integration with your existing speakers, allowing you to build a real home cinema based on rich, balanced sound.

The T/5i is designed with wireless capabilities and can connect via Arrow wireless to compatible speakers and soundbars. This allows for a simple setup with no need for messy cables. However, we don’t like that the wireless transmitter isn’t included with the subwoofer and must be purchased separately, which is disappointing at this price point.

Overall, this T/5i Wireless Subwoofer is a solid option if you’re looking for a streamlined unit with natural-sounding bass that can give you years of reliable, stress-free use.

6. Sonos Wireless Subwoofer – Best Overall

Sale
Sonos Sub - White - Wireless Subwoofer
  • No buzz, just bass Two force-canceling drivers at the center of Sub eliminate vibration and rattle so you get powerful bass without any distortion

The Sonos Sub embodies the essence of simplicity, featuring user-friendly controls and top-notch bass that can impress even the most critical audiophile.

✔️ What we like: A superior subwoofer that’s easy to set up and even easier to use.

What we don’t like: It’s very heavy.

Standout Features

  • Simple installation
  • Inward-facing drivers
  • Alexa voice control

The Sonos Sub is a natural extension of a Sonos home entertainment system, pairing easily with a Beam, Playbar, or Playbase. It can connect in seconds to the receiver and work together with a multi-room system with speakers throughout the house. If you’re looking to revolutionize your home cinema experience, Sonos has you covered. It’s also straightforward, with simple installation in minutes and control from the app or Alexa voice control.

You can place the Sonos Sub in any position, and it will adapt its sound, giving you versatility over your home entertainment setup. It can handle frequencies as low as 25Hz, with minimal distortion due to its dual inward-facing speaker drivers. They eliminate vibrations and rattling, delivering a warm, balanced bass that smooths out the overall sound quality for an immersive movie night.

The Sonos Sub will hurt your wallet a little, but it’s worth investing in the high-quality, audiophile-standard sound. Our sole complaint is that the wireless subwoofer is heavy, so you won’t want to move it again once you get it into position.

To take your Sonos home entertainment system to the next level, you need the Sonos Sub to get the sound you deserve.

7. Samsung SWA-W700 Wireless Subwoofer

SAMSUNG Sound+ SWA-W700 Wireless Subwoofer, Front Firing Design with 10-Inch Driver, Ultra-Deep 27Hz...
  • ULTRA-DEEP BASS: Add room-shaking bass to your Samsung Sound+ soundbar with a 10-inch driver and frequency range of 27Hz~120Hz

The SWA-W700 by Samsung is the cheapest wireless subwoofer on this list without compromising sound or construction.

✔️ What we like: A subtle but effective subwoofer that’s great value for money.

What we don’t like: Minimal adjustment opportunities.

Standout Features

  • Budget-friendly
  • Simple controls
  • Automatic tuning

The Samsung SWA-W700 is highly user-friendly, with simple controls and easy integration into your Samsung entertainment system. It can rapidly connect to your Sound+ soundbar and automatically adjusts its levels with an automatic tuning feature. Depending on its position in the room or the kind of media you are watching, the SWA-W700 ensures you get the most natural and balanced bass across 27Hz to 120Hz.

If you want, you can shake your walls with the strength of the Samsung bass, but it’s not really what this subwoofer is designed for. It evens out the overall sound of your movies, allowing the Soundbar to handle the mids and highs, delivering a subtle sound across low frequencies that make your cinema experience more realistic.

Simplicity is key, with an elegant appearance that uses durable and high-end materials. You can be sure of years of reliable use with the SWA-W700, making it an absolute steal at its budget-friendly price point.

While the Samsung subwoofer has easy installation and simple controls, we wish that there was the ability to adjust the sound directly from the unit rather than going through the Soundbar. However, if you’re looking for a wireless subwoofer to do all the work for you, you can’t go wrong with the SWA-W700 by Samsung.

8. Definitive Technology Studio 3D Mini

Definitive Technology Studio 3D Mini Sound Bar with 6 Speakers and an 8" Wireless Subwoofer, 3D...
  • HEARD BUT NOT SEEN - Two inches tall, this modern and unobstructive sound bar remains out of sight until you hear the massive boom with its (4) 1" x 3" racetrack drivers (two front, two side) and (2)...

The Studio 3D Mini by Definitive Technology is as described – mini. The long-throw 8” wireless subwoofer has a 26.5” (L) soundbar and is a complete package for under $1000.

✔️ What we like: Compact subwoofer that wirelessly connects with included 4.1 channel soundbar

What we don’t like: Price

Standout Features

  • Compact size
  • Long-throw, deep bass
  • Wireless sync to included soundbar

Though the sub is mini, don’t underestimate its performance. The cabinet is 13.98” in height, 12.52” in width, and 12.52” in depth. It has tiny feet to raise the platform for the 8” long-throw D round subwoofer.

First impressions allude to the best performance inside compact, small spaces, but the power of the deep, impactful bass is immersive and engulfing.

Combined with the 4.1 channel sound bar, the pair will exceed all your amateur or particular preferences regarding home theater or music streaming demands for medium to large home spaces.

I did a hands-on test of the Studio 3D Mini via hard-wired connections to a smart TV and wireless connections to smart TV, Mac, and iPhone (Airplay, Bluetooth including screen mirroring, and through the HEOS app). Though the Optical In cable is a preferred setup for many, the two-piece package can be used entirely wirelessly. The subwoofer is 100% wireless as it syncs with the soundbar instinctively with a button press.

Subwoofer 2

Though I have experience with soundbars and subwoofers, I still consider myself a minimalist and amateur when it comes to technology.

The subwoofer and soundbar combo is easy to set up, and everything from the included remote to the app interface is user-friendly and intuitive. It met my simple setup requirements and involved as many apps and tech use as you want – or don’t want.

The pair seemingly disappear in the room with their mini size, but the output is powerful. If you’ve struggled with peaceful dialogue, ear-splitting trebles, and muddy subs in the past, the Studio 3D Mini is the upgrade you need. Though pricey, it’s worth the one-time cost to enjoy theater-grade sound in the long term.

A Guide to Choosing a Wireless Subwoofer

good quality wireless subwoofer

What kind of home entertainment system do you have?

When choosing a wireless subwoofer, you need to consider what kind of existing system it needs to fit into.

If you already have a setup with a brand like Samsung or Bose, choosing a subwoofer from that same brand is worth your time. These subwoofers can pair seamlessly and are optimized to integrate with the soundbar for balanced, powerful bass.

If you are building your system or using various brands, there are also wireless subwoofers compatible with multiple systems. However, you may lose out on full wireless capabilities.

Choosing a subwoofer that can integrate easily with your soundbar and existing speakers on a pure sound level is also essential. Inclusions like phase control and different crossover options can help blend the bass with the mids and highs, delivering a natural and immersive sound.

YouTube video

What kind of space are you working with?

Whether you have a small, cozy living space or a full-sized home cinema room, your needs for a wireless subwoofer will differ.

If you have a smaller space, you can get away with a subwoofer with a smaller driver size, like 8 inches. You will also need a more compact unit hidden away in a corner or under a couch so you aren’t taking up more floor space than necessary.

Suppose you have a much larger home entertainment room. In that case, you should investigate a wireless subwoofer with at least a 10-inch driver and powerful amplifier that can fill your space with sound. You can also get away with a larger and heavier subwoofer, although aesthetics might be a more critical consideration. If your subwoofer is visible, you want to make sure that it has an attractive and modern aesthetic that matches the exterior of your entire entertainment system.

How experienced are you with subwoofers?

If you’re new to the world of subwoofers, you don’t want to overwhelm yourself with multiple controls, adjustable sound, and complicated installation. You can benefit from a simple plug-and-play installation unit, rapid pairing with the receiver, and handy room optimization features that automatically adjust the levels.

However, suppose you’re more experienced and appreciate more of a hands-on approach. You can hence benefit from a manual equalizer and other adjustable sound controls to find your perfect bass sound.

Regardless of your experience level, choosing a subwoofer with durable construction that minimizes vibrations and rattling, with an intelligent port design that allows for smooth, natural sound, is essential.

What’s your budget?

How much you are able and willing to spend should be one of your first considerations when choosing a wireless subwoofer.

If you have a restricted budget, excellent units with simple controls, streamlined design, and good-quality bass can fill a small to medium-sized room.

In the mid-range, you can choose from subwoofers with larger drivers that can fill a bigger room with sound, superior wireless connection, great integration, and attractive design.

For those looking to invest in the long term, you can choose a premium subwoofer with audiophile-quality sound, superior construction, and bass that will immerse you in your favorite films.
