Researching the Best Motorcycle Speakers
Researching the top speakers for motorcycles definitely requires a bit of forethought and insight into this topic.
If you also have a bicycle and want to take the beats with you on that, you should take a look at our post on the best bicycle speakers.
I focused these reviews on speakers containing all of the latest bells and whistles and the most important features.
As an example, I chose motorcycle speakers that easily mount directly to your handlebar so you can hear the music clearly as you take to the open road. I also focused on those motorcycle speakers with plenty of wattage and power, an available USB charging port, dominant Bluetooth capabilities, water resistance, volume control, warranties, amplifiers, and much more.
As you’re about to see, the motorcycle speakers that I recommend are considered the top of the class in a wide range of categories.
Plus, many have extended warranties for added protection in case the worst were to happen and you unintentionally break your speaker system.

Standout Features
- IP66-rated weather resistant housing
- Universal articulating mounting clamps
- 4 channel internal amplifier

The beautiful thing about this motorcycle speaker is the 300 W amplifier means you’ll have no trouble hearing your favorite songs blasting through the audio speakers directly within the sound bar mounted right on your handlebar.
You’ll never have to worry about charging issues either because it has a USB charging port that’ll make it easy to recharge in no time at all. Plus, even if you get caught in a storm the weather resistant speaker will withstand the severest elements.
One reviewer did have a problem with the device and had a difficult time getting the manufacturer to honor the warranty. He said they told him to contact the seller. When he contacted the seller, they told him to contact the manufacturer. He got caught in a vicious circle but I never found out how he ended up resolving the problem.
Overall, the Kuryakyn 2720 MTX Motorcycle Sound Bar is an excellent choice because of the 3.5 mm cable, the 4.1 Bluetooth receiver, the great magnets, the dual voice coils, and all of the other abundant features mentioned above.
2. Boss MCBK470B Motorcycle Bluetooth Speakers Review – Best Bluetooth
- BLUETOOTH: Play and control a vast library of your favorite music using your smartphone or MP3 device, plus plug into apps like Spotify and Pandora wirelessly
The Boss MCBK470B Motorcycle Speaker is making a name for itself because of its excellent Bluetooth connectivity that will connect to any MP3 or smart phone device, it’s compact and weatherproof amplifier, and four 3 inch black full range speakers.

❌ What we don’t like: The speakers aren’t the loudest motorcycle speakers
Standout Features
- Wireless Bluetooth speaker system
- Compact class D amplifier
- Outfitted for weatherproofing
- Convenient in-line volume control
- 3 year platinum warranty
These speakers from Boss were designed with weatherproofing in mind. They are fully equipped and outfitted with all of the protection and technology used to fight back against the elements.
So if you’re ever out riding and listening to your music through your speakers and you get caught in a heavy rainstorm, a snowstorm, or even worse, the speakers will withstand the brunt of the elements and still stand strong and work beautifully afterwards.
One of the reviewers that I read about had difficulty with the volume. In particular, he felt that the volume was a little bit too low which made it hard to hear. To paraphrase his exact words, he said that the audio pumping out of the speakers just wasn’t the loudest motorcycle speakers, and it was much lower than he expected.
This hasn’t been a major complaint across the board, which is a good thing because you don’t want too many people saying the speaker audio comes in too low.
When all is said and done, the Boss MCBK470B Motorcycle Speaker is an excellent choice because of the 3.5 mm auxiliary input, the awesome Bluetooth connectivity with smart phones and MP3 players, the in-line volume controls, and the class D amplifier make this one speaker system that stands out in the crowd.

Truly a remarkable motorcycle stereo speaker system, the TJ4-Q from GoHawk has all of the latest bells and whistles that results in creating the most superb, high quality crystal-clear sound you could ever imagine. And as you know, listening to audio while riding a motorcycle can be challenging if the speakers aren’t loud enough.
The Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity is also an excellent feature that you’ll truly appreciate while out on the road. Because of the great connectivity, you can listen to anything your heart desires via streaming your favorite radio stations, music, podcasts, or even audio from Pandora or Spotify.
Reviewers complained about the sound control module and power button. On different occasions, more than one reviewer said the power button broke after a short amount of time. And others said that the sound control module was faulty. They should let the seller know if there is a problem, because they’ll more than likely replace your faulty speaker.
In addition to all the great stuff mentioned above, the GoHawk TJ4-Q Motorcycle Stereo Speakers supports 50 feet of Bluetooth wireless connectivity, it delivers crystal-clear sound, and it utilizes advanced IP56 waterproof design for the speaker to prevent water damage if you ever get caught in a torrential rainstorm.

❌ What we don’t like: Low sound quality and speaker housing too big
Standout Features
- 140 W pair of speakers
- Complete stereo sound
- Full range audio
- Waterproof marine speakers
- Perfect for boats and automobiles
My favorite thing about this set of powerful woofers is that it’s the perfect choice whether you’re planning to ride on your motorcycle, spend time on the beach, or maybe go fishing on a boat with your friends. These marine speakers can withstand the elements whether it rains or snows and they are waterproof so they can handle errant waves on the ocean without any trouble.
Why is it so effective at battling the elements? The HMS60 speakers are designed with IP66 splash proof protection in place. This design was meant to make the speakers completely water resistant. It will prevent them from corrosion and keep them in excellent shape. It’s also designed to protect against saltwater, humidity, and other harsh environments.
One reviewer was upset because one of their two speakers blew out within six months. I can see how this can be upsetting. Maybe they should have contacted the seller or the manufacturer to find out if they can get a quick replacement.
Overall, the Herdio Marine Motorcycle Speaker is an excellent choice. It’s available in two different colors, so you can take your pick depending on if you like a gray or black better. It’s made from molded ABS plastic and has a rubber edge, which provides an attractive design.
5. LEXIN LX-S3 Motorcycle Stereo System Review

The LEXIN Bluetooth Motorcycle Stereo System is an excellent choice because it’s made of heavy-duty 3-inch metal, has a sleek and compact design, and it has an FM radio built-in to the speaker.
✔️ What we like: Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
❌ What we don’t like: No user manual
Standout Features
- Built-in atmosphere light
- Heavy-duty metallic housing
- Easy handlebar mounting
- Stereo quality sound
- IP67 waterproof rating
One of the best things about the LEXIN Bluetooth Motorcycle Stereo System is the powerful IP67 water resistance rating. You never know when you’re suddenly going to get stuck in a rain storm while riding around on a motorcycle, and the last thing you need is your speaker to break because it gets soaked and waterlogged. This will not happen because this bad boy is waterproof.
I also like this motorcycle speaker system because it has Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Anything less could mean a choppy and erratic listening experience.
I had a hard time finding anything negative to say about this amazing speaker, so the one thing I’ll mention is that it doesn’t come with a user manual.
All things considered, I feel confident recommending the LEXIN Bluetooth Motorcycle Stereo System because it’s water resistant, it has great Bluetooth connectivity, it has premium bass and high-quality sound, it has an FM radio built into the speaker, and it even has a signal running light and atmosphere light which definitely looks pretty cool at night.
6. Boss MC420B Motorcycle Speaker System Review
- Bluetooth - Play and control a vast library of your favorite music using your smartphone or MP3 device, plus plug into apps like Spotify and Pandora wirelessly
The Boss MC420B Motorcycle Speaker System is the perfect choice for motorcycles, ATVs, and other 12 V vehicles.
✔️ What we like: 3 year platinum warranty, convenient in-line volume control
❌ What we don’t like: Loudest motorcycle speakers
Standout Features
- Class D weatherproof amplifier
- 3.5 mm auxiliary input for media playback
- Volume controls located on amplifier
- 3” chrome full range speakers
- Weatherproof speakers
I’m very excited to share my thoughts on the MC420B speakers from Boss because it’s such a top-notch speaker system. Most important of all is the weatherproofing capabilities. If you are out on a motorcycle, you try to pick the clearest and most weather friendly days to go for a ride. But sometimes storms roll in when you least expect them, and having weatherproof speakers and a weather resistant amplifier means your audio system will remain intact and working whether a storm surprises you or not.
I also appreciate the high quality sound that pumps out of the 3 inch chrome full range speakers. The audio is always clear, concise, and fun to listen to and easy to hear over the loudest motorcycle because these little speakers certainly make a lot of noise and that is definitely a good thing.
On the other hand, some reviewers get upset when speakers are too loud. They think that they shouldn’t be that loud for some reason. But when it comes to motorcycle riding or other off-road vehicles, you need speakers that can cut through the noise.
All things considered, the Boss MC420B Motorcycle Speaker System is ahead of the curve because of the great sound quality, the weatherproofing, the class D compact amplifier, the 3 inch speakers, the great Bluetooth connectivity, and easy media playback.
7. KICKER 40PSM34 Motorcycle Speaker System Review
- The PSM Mini Speakers are built for excellent sound on your ATV or motorcycle handlebars
The KICKER 40PSM34 Motorcycle Speaker System is perfect for ATVs, motorcycles, and other off-road vehicles. It’s 50 W of pure power, complete durability, and weatherproofing.
✔️ What we like: Enclosed chrome weatherproof motorcycle speakers, handlebar mounting hardware
❌ What we don’t like: Too much treble and sound cuts out
Standout Features
- PSM mini speakers
- Durable chrome speaker housing
- 50 W speaker
- Fully weatherproof
- Handlebar mounting hardware
This is a great speaker for all bikers that like to drive on the open road. It’s weatherproof so it withstands all of the elements including rain, sleet, snow, and hail. It delivers high quality sound so you can listen to your favorite tunes as you drive to your latest destination. And the 50 W speaker delivers high quality sound much louder than you’d ever imagine from such a small device.
According to one reviewer, the sound cuts out a lot when he turns up the radio too high. He also complained that he hears too much treble coming out of the speakers when the volume is turned all the way up. Obviously that’s not the greatest thing in the world to hear so keep that in mind when purchasing new speakers. On the other hand, I haven’t read any other complaints of this kind so it may just be an isolated incident.
All things considered, the KICKER 40PSM34 Motorcycle Speaker System delivers excellent sound, has durable sleek chrome enclosures, and is an excellent choice for ATV and motorcycle enthusiasts. The contemporary design creates potent sound that you’re sure to enjoy pumping out of the speakers on the handlebar of your motorcycle.
8. GoHawk TJ4-R Motorcycle Stereo Speakers Review
- Performance 2 Channel 100W Amplifier with Two 4” Full Range Motorcycle Stereo Speakers. Universal fit for 1 to 1.5" handlebar. Support Bluetooth Wireless connection up to 15 meters. Innovative...
The GoHawk TJ4-R Motorcycle Stereo Speakers are a favorite of mine. They have a built-in audio amp system, Bluetooth capabilities, and available handlebar mounts for complete ease-of-use.
✔️ What we like: 2 channel 100 W amplifier, 4 inch glossy speaker housing
❌ What we don’t like: The sound of the audio was lower than expected
Standout Features
- Bluetooth 5.0 wireless streaming
- Advanced IP56 water resistant design
- Compatible with Android, iPhone, and smart devices
- 12 V power connection
- Universal fit for handlebars
This motorcycle stereo speaker system is one that I highly recommend to all of my readers.
Why?
The Bluetooth wireless connection is seamless and connects with all sorts of compatible Bluetooth enabled devices. Combine that with the universal handlebar connections, and you have a prevailing speaker that you can put on your motorcycle, bicycle, ATV, or other motorized vehicle.
The design is water resistant on the speaker, but the amplifier itself is not waterproof, so keep that in mind when you install it on your motorcycle. You’ll want to keep the amplifier protected at all times against potentially harsh and dangerous elements that could short out the system.
One reviewer wasn’t very happy with the volume of the audio. He said the volume was very low and he had a hard time hearing it while he was riding his motorcycle at high speeds. This obviously can become a problem because high-speed motorcycle outings definitely result in loud wind and other elements that can ruin your listening experience.
More than anything else, I appreciate the GoHawk TJ4-R Motorcycle Stereo Speakers because of their great design, the high-quality ABS materials, the full range speaker system, the easy installation, and the fact that all of the hardware is included.
A Guide to Choosing a Good Motorcycle Speaker
No one ever said choosing motorcycle speakers were going to be easy. I diligently looked through dozens of potential candidates before I came up with my list of the top eight motorcycle speakers that I reviewed today.
With that said, you should pay close attention to the following areas because you’ll want the best in these categories. Otherwise you may end up buying a faulty or less than stellar speaker and amplifier system that turns out to be a total waste of money.
Bluetooth Connectivity
Obviously, to get the most out of your amplifier and speaker system you’ll need to connect it to a Bluetooth device like your smart phone whether it’s an Android or iOS. Or maybe you plan to hook it up to your tablet. No matter what, you’ll need to buy a speaker or audio system with top-notch Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.
At worst, you should find a device with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, but I wouldn’t choose a device that has anything lower otherwise you may run into connection problems. Ideally you’ll want to pick a speaker with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. This all but guarantees you’ll connect easily to your favorite Bluetooth supported devices.
Waterproofing Capabilities
Waterproofing is also critical when choosing a motorcycle speaker. Why is this important? You never know when you’re going to get caught in a rainstorm, a hailstorm, or even a sleet or snow storm. The inclement weather would otherwise damage your speaker unless it was designed with waterproof and weatherproof capabilities to begin with.
Imagine getting caught in a rainstorm with a normal speaker. It would likely short out and break instantly as soon as the torrential rains began. Avoid this potential mishap at all costs by buying good motorcycle speakers with weatherproofing capabilities to prevent this from ever becoming a problem.
Stereo Quality Sound & Loud Audio
Sound quality is also critical when choosing a speaker or overall stereo system for your motorcycle. Without high quality sound and loud audio, the speaker could potentially become a useless paper weight.
I only say this because I’ve read many reviews online about all kinds of audio devices and speakers just like the ones I’m talking about for motorcycles. Many of the reviewers complained that the speakers aren’t loud enough, clear enough or they have too much treble and not enough bass. Every one of these issues leads to a poor audio listening experience. So find the perfect motorcycle speaker with high quality stereo sound and loud audio to enhance your listening pleasure.
