The Best Wearable Speaker

1. JBL Clip 3 Review – Best Clip On Speaker

JBL Clip 3, River Teal - Waterproof, Durable & Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Up to 10 Hours of Play -...
  • SOUND TO GO - Never leave awesome sound at home again. This ultra-portable, waterproof Bluetooth speaker is small in size but with surprisingly big sound. Clip it on with the built-in carabiner, press...

The JBL Clip 3 is a fine choice if you’re looking to acquire a wireless portable speaker that you can clip on to your belt buckle, your backpack, or anything else that provides a place for you to clip to. This clip-on speaker is available in 12 colors, has 10 hours of playtime, an IPX7 waterproof rating, and an integrated carabiner to improve your overall listening pleasure.

✔️ What we like: Low price point below $50 and highly rated

❌ What we don’t like: Speaker face falls off easily and flat sound

Standout Features

  • Available in 12 colors
  • IPX7 waterproof
  • Integrated carabiner
  • Speakerphone capabilities
  • Streaming with Bluetooth wireless

I’m a big fan of the JBL Clip 3 because it’s an awesome way to take sound on the go wherever you happen to be heading. If you’re going on a hiking trip with friends and plan on spending a couple of days out in the wilderness, you can clip it to your backpack and have your favorite tunes available during your exciting adventure.

Or you can wear it anywhere else and enjoy and appreciate your favorite audio listening sessions along with your friends and companions.

Although the speaker is very little it packs a huge punch. In fact, all you need to do is charge it once and it will play audio for you for 10 hours straight because the battery life is really excellent.

Bring it with you when you go to the beach, or spend time by the swimming pool, or anywhere else that would benefit from a little bit of music or talk radio as you experience the joy of being outdoors with people that you care about.

Unfortunately, a few reviewers say that the mesh face falls off of the speaker pretty easily. This doesn’t seem to be an overall problem for everyone, but enough reviewers mentioned it that I felt it necessary to bring it to your attention as well.

You can always glue it back on if it’s a nuisance, or just keep putting it back on whenever it falls off. Besides that, only one reviewer complained that the sound quality was flat. Who knows if he was using a defective clip-on speaker or not?

All things considered, I think the JBL Clip 3 is an excellent investment for anyone looking to acquire a clip-on Bluetooth speaker.

It works great, the battery lasts practically forever, it’s waterproof, and it even operates as a speakerphone if you’re looking to make hands-free phone calls.

2. Oraolo M110 Wearable Neckband Speaker Review

Neckband Bluetooth Speakers, Oraolo Wireless Wearable Speaker True 3D Stereo Sound, Portable...
  • 【True 3D Theater-Stereo Sound】 -- Built-in 3W*2 speakers system, the wireless neckband speaker produces rich sound and an enhanced bass that goes far beyond its size. Upward-facing design on both...

The Oraolo M110 Wearable Neckband Speaker is the ideal choice for many reasons but in particular it’s great for those looking for true 3-D stereo sound. This portable speaker has an IPX5 waterproof rating, built in Bluetooth 5.0 microphone; it’s durable & comfortable.

✔️ What we like: Wireless connectivity, personal portable speakers, and durable design

❌ What we don’t like: Volume too low and Bluetooth connectivity problems

Standout Features

  • Bluetooth 5.0 technology
  • Built in noise cancelling microphone
  • IPX5 waterproof rating
  • 3-D theater stereo sound
  • Micro USB charging cable

I don’t know about you, but I always appreciate a wearable neckband that comes jam-packed with 3-D theater stereo sound. The 3W*2 speaker system will keep your entire presence surrounded by high quality theater audio to improve your overall listening experience.

You’ll find yourself immersed in your favorite audiobooks, podcasts, and music like you’re enjoying it in a large and wide open theater. It’s truly an exciting experience that everyone should have the pleasure of revelling in at least once.

Not only is the audio sound incredibly amazing, this wearable speaker is also comfortable too. It’s designed with soft silicon materials and it’s exceptionally lightweight so it doesn’t feel like it’s bogging down your neck with a heavy device. In fact, it’s so light that you hardly notice that it’s even there when it’s turned off.

Plus it gives you the ability to keep your hands and ears completely free so you can take phone calls, write notes, respond to text messages, and a whole host of other things that would otherwise be impossible to accomplish if your hands were occupied.

A few reviewers had issues with this Bluetooth speaker. One said that the volume was way too low for his preference. I also want to mention that he is a jackhammer operator so he spent the majority of his day in very loud conditions. This shouldn’t be an issue for most people.

The other reviewer said that he suffered from Bluetooth connectivity problems. He had to keep reconnecting the device to other Bluetooth devices because it would occasionally cut out. Just thought you should know.

In truth, I feel like the Oraolo M110 Wearable Neckband Speaker is an excellent neckband speaker because of the low price point, the comfortable material, the hands-free calling options, the long battery life and waterproof capabilities.

3. ENUOSUMA Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Review – Best Wearable Bluetooth Speaker

No products found.

The ENUOSUMA Wireless Bluetooth Speaker is a phenomenal choice for anyone looking for a wearable neckband with full range audio crossover, wireless charging, and Bluetooth capability. This portable device is waterproof with an IPX5 rating, 12 hours of battery life, and true 3-D stereo sound.

✔️ What we like: It’s comfortable, has an open design, and it’s made of premium material

❌ What we don’t like: The paint wears off of the wearable neckband

Standout Features

  • Made of ABS and silicone materials
  • IPX5 sweat and weather resistance
  • U-shaped upward facing speakers
  • Ergonomic design
  • 3 button intuitive controls

When I look at wearable Bluetooth speakers and in particular the best of the bunch, I always want one that is comfortable, made of premium materials, and consists of an ergonomic design. You get this and so much more with this wearable neckband.

As far as materials are concerned, the device is made of a combination of silicone and ABS materials. Not only does this provide maximum comfort, it also provides weather and sweat resistance, which is why this neckband has received a high IPX5 rating.

Even more critical is your level of comfort. It fits comfortably right around your neck in an open design. You’ll be able to keep full awareness of the outside world while enjoying music, talking on the phone, or accessing virtual assistants.

It allows you to stay connected to the digital world and the physical world quite comfortably without having to personally miss a beat.

On a negative note, one reviewer said the paint on the neckband has a tendency to wear off very quickly. He said the black paint wore off easily and it made the neckband look ugly and unattractive. This may be true because it doesn’t seem like this reviewer would mention this for no reason.

But I only read this complaint from one person, so it’s possible they shipped him a faulty device. He should contact the manufacturer and let them know about the problem. They’ll likely send him a new wearable speaker for free since he isn’t 100% satisfied with the product.

In the end, I’m a huge fan of the ENUOSUMA Wireless Bluetooth Speaker because of its abundant connectivity, its U-shaped ergonomic design, the easy to use controls, and most of all the Bluetooth 5.0 premium connectivity. They also throw in a 12 month warranty and lifetime customer service to boot.

So this company obviously cares a great deal about its customers.

4. Bluenin Wearable Neckband Review

The Bluenin Wearable Neckband is a wonderful choice. It’s made with CVC 8.0 noise-cancelling tech, 3-D sound, a built-in microphone, and a flexible design.

✔️ What we like: Comfortable design, Bluetooth 5.0, and QUALCOMM APT-X technology

❌ What we don’t like: Not loud enough and faulty microphone

Standout Features

  • BBH-929s speakers
  • hands-free calling
  • 2 lithium batteries (15 hours playback)
  • 3-D surround sound
  • Quadruple speaker system

So many people praise this wearable neckband because of its incredible Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities. Besides that, it’s also a noise cancelling dynamo because it can minimize any and all background noise and keep it completely out of your awareness to create a more pleasurable listening experience.

This neckband is filled with all of the latest and greatest technology as well. In fact, it utilizes QUALCOMM APT-X technology, which means the sounds coming out of the speakers are truly amazing and provides an impeccable experience.

The advanced Bluetooth tech creates a stable connection, lossless HD sound, and audio streaming transmissions that never cut out or get interrupted.

One reviewer complained that the device itself isn’t loud enough. This may or may not be true, depending on where he was using the neckband. If he was in a loud auditorium or public place to begin with, it would be difficult to hear the neckband or any other speakers for that matter.

Another reviewer nitpicked that the microphone was faulty. If they had a broken microphone, they should have contacted the manufacturer to take advantage of the warranty. The company would gladly send them a new one to replace their broken product.

Overall, the Bluenin Wearable Neckband is the smart choice because it comes with two 380 MAH high-efficiency Li-ion batteries, delivers 15 hours of continuous playtime, uses the latest CVC 8.0 noise canceling technology, and is made with a comfortable, flexible, and sturdy design.

5. Zulu Audio Wearable Speakers Review – Best for Running

Zulu Audio Magnetic Wearable Bluetooth Speakers (Black) for Running, Bicycling, Hiking, with...
  • Two small 1.83″ x 0.75″ x 1.83″ Bluetooth speakers that attach to your shoulders for clear, enjoyable audio while on the move

The Zulu Audio Wearable Speakers are an excellent if sports, exercising, and running are in your wheelhouse. You can attach the two small speakers to your clothing; pair the device with any other Bluetooth-enabled audio equipment, answer phone calls with the built-in microphone, and take advantage of the four hours of battery life.

✔️ What we like: Affordable price below $40, free shipping

❌ What we don’t like: Volume too loud and shorted out quickly

Standout Features

  • Clips firmly in place with magnets
  • 4 hours of battery life
  • Micro USB charging cable
  • Built-in lithium ion battery
  • Bluetooth enabled wireless audio streaming

Are you a sports enthusiast?

Or even better, are you a huge fan of running as a pastime or a way to exercise?

If you enjoy running, walking, hiking, or anything involving using your feet, then you will truly appreciate these wearable speakers.

They are made up of two small speakers that you can attach directly to your clothing. They create a kind of portable surround sound experience, which is a great way to enhance your listening pleasure as you take to the open road.

The device incorporates two magnets that you can clip together. After clipping them to your person, the speakers will stay firmly in place on your clothes and never fall off even if you’re running, biking, or participating in another fast-paced activity.

These speakers hold on for dear life so all the bouncing, jostling, and moving around will never cause them to fall off or break due to strenuous activity.

On the downside, one reviewer said that the speakers were incredibly loud, which may not be a bad thing depending on what you plan on using them for. But he said that he set the speaker to the lowest volume and the audio was still so loud that it was practically deafening.

I could see how this could be a problem if you’re trying to listen to these speakers in a relatively quiet setting. Otherwise you might not care or even prefer to have speakers that pump loud and crystal-clear audio into the air.

Another reviewer claimed that her speakers shorted out really quickly. This sounds like a problem for the manufacturer. The reviewer should have told them about the problem and she would likely have received a free set of portable speakers for her troubles.

You have to love the Zulu Audio Wearable Speakers for many reasons. I personally dig the magnets that stay firmly in place, the quick Bluetooth pairing with other wireless audio devices, the built-in microphone, and the other flawless features that make it such an excellent recommendation.

6. Soye Bluetooth Speaker Watch Review – Best Bluetooth Speaker Watch

No products found.

The Soye Bluetooth Speaker Watch is a very impressive technological wonder and a popular choice online. It’s also very inexpensive at under $25, it’s lightweight, it’s portable and fits comfortably on your wrist, and it’s perfect for listening to audio, making hands-free phone calls, and much more.

✔️ What we like: Excellent sound quality, super long battery life, and anti-lost function

❌ What we don’t like: FM function doesn’t exist and poorly translated instructions

Standout Features

  • Portable wireless speaker watch
  • Upgraded version with colorful lights
  • 8 hours of battery life
  • Compatible with most Bluetooth devices
  • Portable watch speaker doubles as an MP3 player

I awarded this device the best Bluetooth speaker watch because of its many outstanding qualities. I particularly like this device because I’ve never been a big fan of wearing watches. They usually feel too heavy and uncomfortable on my wrist. But this portable design is super lightweight and colorful, which makes it really comfortable to wear and it’s quite attractive as well.

Besides the lightweight design, this watch speaker is also brilliant because it has exceptional sound quality. Most people tend to use it as a Bluetooth speaker, but it actually doubles as an MP3 player.

So you can put in a TF (transflash) card loaded up with your favorite audio files and experience your favorite music, audiobooks, or anything else that you happen to listen to while you go out for a run, walk, or a bike ride. Or maybe you plan on using this on public transportation, which is fine, but earbuds would probably be a better choice.

One reviewer complained that he couldn’t get the FM function to work. But as far as I can tell, this speaker watch isn’t actually an FM radio. He just assumed he was buying a radio but he didn’t actually pay close attention to the description of the product. It’s great because it acts as a Bluetooth speaker and it also works as an MP3 player, so he could use it to listen to audio if he liked.

Another part of the problem might be that the instructions are translated poorly into English. Some people said they had a difficult time reading the instructions because of the poor translation.

This will make it hard for you to figure out all of the functions, so I could see how someone might accidentally think this has FM radio capabilities even though it doesn’t.

Besides the abundant features already mentioned, I really appreciate the Soye Bluetooth Speaker Watch for its excellent Bluetooth connectivity, it’s optional TF card insert slot, it’s long battery life, and its ability to connect with and pair to numerous Bluetooth devices.

7. Bose Soundwear Wearable Speaker Review – Best Bose Wearable Speaker

Bose Soundwear Companion Wireless Wearable Speaker - Black - 771420-0010
  • Comfortable and wearable so you can enjoy music take calls and access virtual assistants and still stay connected to the world around you

The Bose Soundwear Wearable Speaker is a top rated neckband. This neckband is comfortable, has an easy-to-use three button control, and a sweat and weather resistant IPX4 waterproof rating.

✔️ What we like: Comfortable to wear and keeps the user connected to the outside world

❌ What we don’t like: Expensive and loses its charge quickly

Standout Features

  • 3 button control – volume up, volume down, play/pause
  • 12 hours of battery life
  • 15 minute quick charge = 2 hours of battery life
  • IPX4 sweat and weather resistant
  • Bluetooth connectivity

I really appreciate this wearable speaker for a lot of reasons, but in particular I like the fact that you can get a full 12 hour charge by charging it for a mere 3 hours. Even better, if you charge the device for a quick 15 minutes after it runs out of battery you’ll get an additional 2 hours of battery life, which is perfect for your car ride, train ride, or bus commute home.

You won’t have to miss out on the next chapter of your exciting audiobook if you charge it at the last minute on your way out the door after work.

Do you know what else I like about these wearable speakers? You can control the entire device off of the Bose Connect app. This app is perfect because it allows you to personalize your settings, manage the various Bluetooth connections you may have, take smartphone calls, listen to music, watch a movie, or perform a wide range of other activities with a single swipe.

You can switch it into Dialogue Mode if you prefer to enhance speech quality, and so much more.

A few reviewers complained that the price was too high at $299 with free shipping. But you get what you pay for and when you buy the Bose brand name, you should expect to spend more than you would when buying a neckband from a no-name company.

Another reviewer complained that his wearable speaker lost its charge quickly. Instead of lasting the full 12 hours, he said that his neckband would run out of charge within a few hours and then he’d have to charge it again. It sounds like a defective device that needs to be returned to the manufacturer.

On the whole, the Bose Soundwear Wearable Speaker is an excellent choice because it’s comfortable, it uses patented waveguide technology, has a simple 3 button control interface.

It can be used with Siri and Google Assistant, and it’s wearable so you can take it anywhere to listen to your favorite music, podcasts, or make hands-free phone calls, which is really convenient in my opinion.

A Guide to Choosing the Best Wearable Speaker

Man with wearable speaker watch

Finding the perfect wearable speakers is never the easiest thing to accomplish. You could literally spend hours on the Internet reading reviews, checking out specifications, and deeply diving into the pros and cons of each individual device. Since there are hundreds of them to choose from, this can become a daunting proposition very quickly if you insist on learning about each and every one of them.

Instead, you need to focus on key areas that will help you determine if a particular wearable speaker is a good option for you or not. As an example, if you’re a runner you should focus your search by looking for devices that are known to withstand heavy duty activities like running, sports, and exercise in general. This will allow you to narrow down your search and find the perfect neckband to meet your needs.

On the other hand, you could focus your search on wearable speaker watches if that’s what you happen to be into. You do not need to learn about every wearable neckband on the web if you only really care about bluetooth speaker watches.

I have other areas that I’d like you to focus on as well. I will go into greater detail regarding each of these categories below.

Lightweight and Comfortable Design

If you plan to wear these neckband speakers often while traveling, exercising, or partaking in many other activities, you’ll need comfortable and lightweight options to choose from.

Why?

Heavy and bulky neckbands can become very uncomfortable after having them draped around your next for hours at a time. You should avoid heavy neckbands at all costs if you believe they will be uncomfortable because you plan on wearing them for many hours in a row.

Comfort is extremely important when choosing a wearable neckband as well. If the material is scratchy and rough, at worst, the scratchy feeling can become very painful. Or it might just be exceedingly irritating to have it rubbing up and down on your neck for hours at a time.

Keep the comfort and weight of the device in mind when making a purchase. You’ll be glad that you focused on these areas in particular.

Battery Longevity

Battery longevity is always another issue when it comes to choosing a wearable speaker. In many cases, you’ll find that some batteries are better than others. And you’ll even find certain devices that hold two batteries, which is an ingenious way of giving you a lot more battery life for your money.

Overall, you’ll likely find wearable speakers that have battery life anywhere from 2 to 15 hours before you need to recharge. If you only intend to wear the neckband for an hour or two at a time, then the shorter battery life should be fine.

On the other hand, if you intend to wear the device for many hours in a row, you’ll want one that stays charged for at least 6 to 10 hours or more to get the most for your money.

Stereo Quality Sound

Why buy wearable speakers at all if the sound quality isn’t impressive? You should make it a point to find neckband speakers with impeccable sound quality.

Otherwise your audiobooks will sound distorted, the music will sound out of key, and your favorite talk radio hosts will sound like they’re auditioning to play Mickey or Minnie Mouse at Disney World.

Focus on finding wearable speakers with excellent sound quality and you’ll never have to worry about making the wrong choice.
