Researching Excellent Noise Cancelling Headphones Under $100
As mentioned above, I did all the legwork, so you don’t have to. Researching ambient noise-diminishing headphones isn’t the most exciting job in the world. But someone needs to share this information concisely and unbiasedly, so I took the challenge upon my shoulders.
During the research phase, I consider certain factors as I determine whether to share a positive review about a particular headset. Sound quality is an excellent example.
Without high-quality sound, the headphones aren’t going to be very useful. So choosing headphones with excellent sound quality is an absolute must.
I also keep a close eye on comfort. Personally, I believe the headphones will be comfortable after wearing them for many hours in a row. I learned this through personal experience and the experience of other reviewers, which I’ll then share with you.
Other things to consider, including the type of Bluetooth technology used within the headset, are:
- Do they incorporate the best noise-cancellation features?
- What is the weight of the headset?
- Does it have a good battery life?
- Does it have good pairing capabilities?
If behind the neck headphones are more your thing, you might want to check out our excellent post on those.
The Best Noise Cancelling Headphones Under $100 In2025
1. Sony Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones Review
- Cancel out the world with smart noise cancellation.Specific uses for product : Travel
The Sony Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are impressive for many reasons. I like them because of their low price point, wireless Bluetooth connectivity, the microphone for phone calls, and the smart noise cancelling feature that easily eliminates unwanted background noise.
✔️ What we like: Hands-free calling with smartphone compatibility
❌ What we don’t like: Uncomfortable headphones made of plastic
Standout Features
- Automatic noise cancellation
- Quick charging capabilities
- 35 hours of battery life
- Wireless streaming via Bluetooth
- Adjustable sliders made of metal
There is so much to love about these wireless headphones from Sony that it’s hard to pinpoint my favorite aspects. But one of the big things I absolutely adore is that the battery life lasts 35 hours. I always forget to charge my headphones, so getting 35 hours of battery life out of them makes it easy for me to forget and still get to enjoy my favorite songs and audiobooks whenever I’m out and about and want to listen to something as I’m walking around town.
Speaking of walking around outside, I’m also very impressed with the noise-cancelling capabilities of these headphones. They take it a step further than any other noise-cancelling feature I’ve ever heard of.
It analyzes your environment, collects information about the noise going on around you, and uses it to create a noise-cancelling performance specific to the environment you happen to be in. This is next-level noise cancelling that I never dreamed possible, and it truly works like a charm.
This wasn’t my complaint, but one previous customer didn’t like that these headphones were made of plastic. She said that she felt the headphones were uncomfortable on top of her head and wouldn’t use them any longer. I didn’t think so, and I don’t know many other people who have, but I figured I’d mention it to let you know how she felt.
All in all, the Sony Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are second to none because of their incredibly long 35 hours of battery life, their 10-minute quick charge feature that provides 60 minutes of continuous playback, the dual noise sensors and ambient sound mode that take the listening experience to the next level, the hands-free calling, and the insanely effective noise cancelling feature makes these headphones one of the best pairs on the market right now.
2. Sennheiser Active Noise Cancellation Headphones Review
- Bluetooth 5. 0 technology for effortlessly reliable connectivity including AAC and AptX Low Latency codec support
The Sennheiser Active Noise Cancellation Headphones are very effective because they utilize Bluetooth 5.0 wireless tech, have Alexa built-in, have 30 hours of battery life which is an incredibly potent charge, they come with a USB-C fast charging cable, and they have active noise cancelling to block out all of the unwanted background noise.
✔️ What we like: Headphones available in an original and special edition
❌ What we don’t like: Faulty built-in microphone
Standout Features
- Bluetooth 5.0 technology
- Virtual assistant button
- 30 hours of battery life
- Fast charging capable
- ANC noise cancellation
First, the Sennheiser Active Noise Cancellation Headphones are a big deal because they’re over-the-ear headphones, the original edition costs less than $100, and I love their long battery life. Thirty hours is a long time for a full charge to last with a headset like this. And for me, this is good because I fail to remember to charge my headphones often, so having the extra battery strength on hand is always very helpful.
I also love the quick charging capability with the USB-C charging cable. I can plug the charging cable in for 10-15 minutes, and the headphones will work for around an hour or more, which is always beautiful. Again, this is an outstanding feature for someone like me who continuously needs to remember to charge his headphones.
Now I don’t have to worry about remembering as much because the quick charge feature usually gives me more than enough time to listen to music or a podcast for a little while during my commute.
One reviewer was not a big fan of the built-in microphone. He said that the microphone picks up too many unwanted sounds because of the ANC noise cancellation feature, which makes it nearly impossible for him to speak into the mic when he’s trying to talk to somebody on the phone or streaming video.
I can see how this can be frustrating because the audio will sound unclear and warped on the other end. This never happened to me personally, and I only learned about this problem recently, but it’s something that you should be aware of nonetheless.
Overall, you’ll appreciate the Sennheiser Active Noise Cancellation Headphones because they make the ideal travel companion with 30 hours of battery life and fast charging capabilities. They provide quick access to your favorite voice assistants like Google Assistant or Siri, the headset is easily foldable for simple storage, and you can even download their app to personalize your sound and save it to the app.
3. Anker Soundcore Noise Cancelling Headphones Review – Very Popular
- Incredible Sound Loved by 20 Million+ People
Anker Soundcore has outdone itself with this exciting hybrid active noise-cancelling headset. It’s wireless and utilizes the latest in Bluetooth technology; it has high-resolution audio, deep bass, memory foam ear cups, and 40 hours of playtime per charge. It’s perfect for the home, office, or when traveling.
✔️ What we like: Memory foam ear cups, hybrid active noise minimizing technology, 40 hours of playtime
❌ What we don’t like: Large ear cups and average sound quality
Standout Features
- Ambient noise reduction by 90%
- Life Q20 active noise cancelling technology
- Built-in ANC microphone
- BassUp tech for stronger bass
- 40 hour playtime 60 hour extension
The Soundcore Life Q20 is one of the most popular headsets online.
Why are these headphones so special? For starters, they have certified high-resolution audio. This certificate isn’t awarded to every audio device. They only give it to the best headsets that convey outstanding sound quality.
The noise reduction features are second to none. Their noise-limiting capabilities can reduce background and ambient noises by more than 90%. They’ve tested this product over 100,000 times in many real-world scenarios, and the noise cancellation feature always delivered high-quality results.
The base is 100% stronger than other models of this type. They’ve added other BassUp technology on the Anker Soundcore Noise Cancelling Headphones that you can access at the press of a button to make the bass thump and shake up your listening experience.
On a sourer note, one reviewer felt the memory foam ear cups were too large for their ears. They didn’t complain about the sound quality or the noise cancellation abilities. They didn’t like that the ear cups were so big they covered their whole ears.
Who knows? Maybe they had very small ears to begin with.
4. RCA Bluetooth 5.0 Headphones Review
- Advanced automatic noise canceling (ANC) technology: turn on the ANC switch, All you get is Peace and quietness when you put RCA ANC headphones on, no matter how noisy the outside world is. RCA active...
RCA has an excellent track record of creating impeccable audio devices, and they delivered big time with their latest active ambient sound cancellation headphones. Not only is this a highly rated option for Bluetooth headphones, but it also has 25 hours of playtime, soft protein ear pads, a wireless headset with a built-in microphone, and other exciting features.
✔️ What we like: Foldable soft protein ear pads, advanced automatic sound diminishing technology
❌ What we don’t like: Charging difficulties and Bluetooth flickers in and out
Standout Features
- Affordable price below $40 with free shipping
- Advanced ANC technology
- 97% noise reduction
- Bluetooth 5.0
- CVC 6.0
These noise-cancelling headphones are pretty sensational because they are fully equipped with many great features. They are perfect for those who like to travel because the battery life lasts up to 25 hours, and they connect directly with cell phones, PCs, TVs, iPads, tablets, android phones, and so much more.
The theme today is noise-cancelling technology. This headset has this technology in spades. They utilize an ANC on and off switch, allowing you to actively adjust the amount of noise you can slip into your headset. Sometimes people need to listen to ambient noise in the background if they have kids playing in the house or the dog needs to go out for a walk or any other reason. Having the ability to adjust the ambient noise makes this headset extra special.
The soft ear pads are also incredibly comfortable, which improves the overall listening experience. They have 90° swiveling capabilities that allow you to move them around and easily adjust them to achieve maximum comfort.
The biggest complaints from reviewers concerned Bluetooth connectivity issues and charging difficulties. One reviewer of the RCA Bluetooth 5.0 Headphones had a tough time charging his headset, making it impossible for him to use it. Another reviewer said that the Bluetooth flickered in and out, which made it challenging to stay connected to his favorite devices.
Fortunately, these negative reviews seem few and far between.
5. Utaxo Bluetooth Headphones Review
- [Headphones on, World off] advanced noise reduction technology quells airplane cabin noise, city traffic or a busy office. A valuable noise cancelling headphone in protecting your ears from excessive...
The Utaxo Bluetooth headphones are fabulous since they have some of the best features that money can buy. They were designed with quick charging capabilities, 30 hours of playtime, connectivity to devices like PCs, smartphones, and tablets, deep bass, foldable wireless headset, and excellent noise cancellation capabilities.
✔️ What we like: Advanced noise reduction technology, ultra-high speed charging
❌ What we don’t like: Tight fit and too bulky
Standout Features
- 5 minutes charging gives two hours of battery life
- 30 hours of battery life when fully charged
- 90° rotatable ear cups
- 40 mm large aperture drivers
- Riveting, thumping deep bass
One of the most exciting things about these headphones is their charging capabilities. Sometimes you forget to plug in your headset and give it a charge. Instead of having no way of listening to music or your favorite podcasts, you can simply plug this headset in for five minutes, and it will work for the next two hours. That’s super convenient when you need a quick charge in a pinch.
The other exciting thing is that the adjustable headband has 90° rotatable ear cups and the protein ear pads are ultra comfortable. Sometimes these headsets can feel a little too restricting and painful. You won’t feel that way wearing these headphones because they give your ears the cushioning and space to breathe. Plus, they are lightweight and wireless, making them easy to carry and transport.
The hi-fi sound and powerful bass make these stereo headphones rise above the rest. The audio quality is impeccable, the modern noise-diminishing design blocks out ambient noises, and the Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity is second to none.
It’s nearly impossible to make every reviewer happy, and this is the case with this great Utaxo Bluetooth Headphones headset. One reviewer felt like the headphones were too tight and too bulky. He must’ve had a larger head than most of the other reviewers because there weren’t any other complaints in this regard.
So, if you have a large head, you may not want to buy these headphones because they most likely won’t fit.
6. JBL Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones Review – Best Overall
- The JBL Live 460NC wireless headphones feature 40mm drivers and a sound signature that can be found in the most famous venues all around the world..Impedance (ohms) : 32. Dynamic frequency response...
The JBL Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are another inexpensive pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones. They’re available in 3 colors, including black, blue, and white; they cost less than $100, and the ANC noise cancelling feature works like a charm.
✔️ What we like: Long battery life
❌ What we don’t like: Bluetooth connectivity difficulties
Standout Features
- 50 hours of battery life
- 40 hours of battery life with active ANC
- Voice assistant capable
- Adaptive noise cancelling
- Bluetooth connectivity
I don’t know about you, but I enjoy using the JBL Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones because of their Bluetooth connectivity capabilities. I am sick and tired of constantly dealing with unnecessary wires whenever I have headphones or earbuds in my ears. It can get very frustrating because the cables always get in the way. This isn’t a problem with these headphones because they’re completely wireless and adequately connected via Bluetooth.
The built-in microphone is another great feature because I like to use them for more than just listening to music. Occasionally, I may want to talk to somebody on the phone or through a video chat with headphones on because I’d rather keep my conversation private. I don’t need the world to hear everything I’m discussing. The microphone did an excellent job for me whenever I used it, and it works well with my Android phone.
Nothing is ever perfect in this life, and one previous customer was unhappy because she was having severe Bluetooth connectivity difficulties. I didn’t experience this personally, so I cannot comment on her experience one way or another except that it doesn’t seem to be a common problem for everyone. If she was having Bluetooth difficulties, she probably had a faulty product, and she should contact the manufacturer to request a new one. Overall, the JBL Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are a fantastic choice.
They are foldable, lightweight, connect to Android phones with the most excellent ease, have incredible noise cancellation features to block out background sounds, and have excellent Bluetooth connectivity to connect to your favorite Bluetooth-enabled devices.
A Guide to Choosing the Best Noise Cancelling Headphones Under $100

Unlike many others, you may not want to fully embrace my advice regarding the best noise-cancelling headphones under $100. You may prefer to take matters into your own hands and make decisions. While I’m a little sad that you don’t fully trust my opinion, I certainly respect your wishes and will do everything I can to make it easy for you to choose the best headset to meet your needs.
You need to focus on a few specific areas when choosing the best noise-cancelling headphones under $100. It would be best to focus your research on noise-dampening technology, battery longevity, and sound quality. While you’re at it, think about looking into comfort as well if you’re going to wear headphones for many hours daily.
Noise Cancellation Capabilities
First and foremost, you’re pretty concerned about the ability to reduce background noise with your headphones. Otherwise, you wouldn’t even read a review article on the best noise-cancelling headphones under $100. So you should begin your search right here.
Take time to read user reviews and specifically zone in on the noise cancellation aspects. Some reviewers might say the noise reduction features weren’t that good. You should also look for a device with a noise-dampening microphone so you can talk to coworkers and friends with crystal-clear clarity.
Battery Longevity
Battery life is also a big issue with most noise-reduction headsets. Why? Most of them are wireless, meaning they use Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. In this case, Bluetooth tends to put a significant drain on your battery power.
So, you should focus on choosing headphones that have long-lasting battery life. You’ll appreciate the additional power when you forget to charge the headset but still have plenty of juice to use.
Stereo Quality Sound
Are you buying this headset because you plan to listen to your favorite music, watch your favorite videos, or listen to your favorite audiobooks and podcasts?
Sound quality will be a big deal if you’re buying a headset for this reason. Ensure the headset uses the latest technology to improve quality by leaps and bounds. This way, you’ll know you’re getting top-quality sound at an affordable price.
Comfort
Comfort is often the last piece of the puzzle, but it’s a big issue for many people nonetheless.
Why?
It’s important because they’re buying a headset for work and will have to keep it on top of their head for 8 to 10 hours a day.
If it’s uncomfortable, then your workday is going to suffer tremendously. Instead of buying a headset that will make you utterly miserable while on the job, you should focus on buying one with excellent comfort to help make a difficult situation much more accessible throughout the day.
